Thank you for this web site and information. My mother was a Stephenson and I have traced her roots back to a James Stephenson born in Lanarkshire in 1601. My son completed a DNA test that indicated our ancestors were mostly French and German. Thus I'm wondering if Sir Stephen Locard came to the British Isles from Flanders or Normandy in the wake of William the Conqueror? Appreciate your thoughts.
I appreciate all of the fascinating information you've shared here. Imagine my surprise after believing my entire life that both sides of my family were from Germany (Deutschland) to learn that my 11x Great Grandmother was Martha Douglas (born Lockhart) and has a rich Scottish heritage and pedigree. Martha's daughter, Elizabeth Douglas Alexander, moved from Scotland to Virginia (in the United States sometime before 1775), to begin the American branch of Lockhart descendants to which I belong.
I am a descendent of the Lockhart's on my fathers side and I an coming to Scotland in August 2018 and planning to visit as many of the places of interest as possible.

Hi,
I am the great, great granddaughter of Charles Dixon Lockhart born in Amherst, Nova Scotia in 1818. I believe I may be related to other Lockharts in Nova Scotia and would really love to know more about my family.
