Cruach Mor! Dedicated to our kinsmen in all of Scotland, and my friend Chewie Lockhart.
I’m just proud that I’m related to the Lockharts and the name stayed in the family ending when my great grandmother Sarah Lockhart married a Parrish. My only dismay is that Clan Lockhart is not represented at our Celtic Festival here in Maryland. I have researched further but can only confirm to Alexander, 4th Lord of Cleghorn, Lockhart 1th GG as my 13 great grandfather. Thank you for a wonderful web page.
Have just received information pertaining to my family lineage, and it appears that Conrad Lockhart was my Great +++ Grandfather. Am very interested, and compelled to find more information regarding my heritage.
I was born December 1950 in western Pa in the city of McKeesport. My paternal grandfather was Andrew Lockhart and his parents were Robert & Jane. Andrew immigrated to the USA. Andrew & Mitilda had 10 children. Edwin was my biological father. My mother's maiden name is Dolores Hornick. I currently live in Stuart, Fl..

I am a direct linage from a James Lockhart who came to America between 1740-1742. His son was a Jacob Lockhart. I am an Officer in the Kansas Army National Guard and excited to be a part of a great clan!
I am a descendant of Daniel Lockhart (m: Grace?). Daniel was born in 1741 in Lanark, Scotland, but lived most of his life in Rockingham County, Virginia I believe that I am also a descendant of Sir Symon Lochard of Lee, but I cannot make the connections from Daniel backward to prove that relationship.
Anyone? Anyone? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Zane Wall of Pennsylvania.
My research indicates the earliest Lockharts arriving in the American Colonies were Colonel Richard Henry Lee I (Lockhart) of Coton, Cambridgeshire, England about 1640, with wife, Mary Constable, having one son, Colonel Richard Henry Lee II (Lockhart) in 1647.
Also, William Lee (Lockhart) of Southwell, Nottinghamshire, England, arriving the later part of 1678 in New York, marrying Mary Marvin of Hempstead, Nassau, New York in 1680.
They had two sons, Joseph Lee I (1686) and Robert Lee (1687)
The two above named fathers were cousins, direct descendants of The Lockhart’s of Lee, the previous (Richard Henry Lee) being of the line that produced the “Lee’s of Virginia,” being Robert Edward Lee’s 4-times Great-Grandfather as well as being related to Martha Custus Dandridge-Washington.
Their roots run deep in Westmorland County, Virginia. The ancestral homes of the Lee’s and Washington’s.

Hello, I am a Professor of History and Historical Research Methods, as well a Professional Genealogist.
Sir Simon (Symon) Lockhart of Lee is my 19th Great-Grandfather. The earliest records I’ve discovered is that of a Richard Locard (Lockhart) of Lee born about 1075 in Flanders, Scotland.
I am planning a research trip next year to the areas surrounding Lanarkshire, and look forward to further research and discover.

I'm from Ayr and have always wanted to find out which of the Lockharts I descend from. My search begins here.
Growing up near the clyde valley (wishaw), I was always told that we had great heritage in the Lanark area.
Next time i am back up home, I need to look into this a bit more and find out if I really am closely related to this famous family.
Fingers crossed.

My fourth great-grandfather was William Lockhart, born 1756 (perhaps in Virginia) and died 1834 in Beaver County, Pennsylvania. I am very interested in finding others who descend from this line. I am hoping to learn the earlier history of this line.
I am a 12th generation great grand daughter of James and Martha Lockhart. My grandmother Cameron immigrated from Scotland to New Zealand in 1928. I would love any info on my heritage.
My grandmother was Josie Lockhart (born approx 1900). I named my daughter Laura Lockhart Lind. My grandmother traveled to Lee Castle in her 70s and spoke with the then current owners. I am told that my great+++...... grandfather was Joe Lockhart who fought in the American Revolution in New York and then settled in the Ohio Valley. His first of 19 children was the first white child born in the Ohio Valley. I don't know much about my ancestry but may pursue some day.
I am Bobby Lockhart from Western Kentucky. The Lockhart family has been there for generations. I would appreciate any information on my family from that area.
